Testosterone is a steroid hormone produced by the male testicles and the adrenal glands in both men and women. It plays a key role in the development of male characteristics, such as muscle mass, body hair, and a deep voice. Testosterone levels naturally decrease as men age, and low levels can lead to conditions such as decreased sex drive, osteoporosis, and muscle weakness. It is found in small amount in females from the ovary. Testosterone test is used to diagnosed various conditions such as erectile dysfunction and infertility in men.
